Summer Camp at Alcuin Montessori School: June 5 - August 11, 2023
Have your children experience "Fun with a Purpose!" this summer at Alcuin Montessori School. Take advantage of an enjoyable summer program that provides the rewards of a Montessori approach to learning with a big helping of summer fun. Whether your child is new to Montessori or a pro, this camp is a great way for them to discover, learn and grow in a safe and fun environment. All children must bring their own lunch. Families will be sent final confirmation and paperwork in early May.
Payment Information: Current Alcuin families, payment for sessions 1–4 will be billed and due in full through FACTS upon receipt of registration form. Sessions 5–9 will be due on July 1 and will also be billed through FACTS. Registration forms for current Alcuin families can be dropped off in the main campus office or emailed to frontdesk@alcuin.org. All non-Alcuin families must pay in full by check upon receipt of summer camp registration form for all sessions 1–9. Forms without payment from non-Alcuin families will not be processed. Summer camp forms can be dropped off with payment at the main campus front desk. There is a $25 cancellation fee for each session that is canceled or changed. Questions? Full-day camp: 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Cost: $450 for five-day camp sessions, $360 for four-day camp sessions.
Half-day camp: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. or 1:00-4:00 p.m. Cost: $250 for five-day camp sessions, $200 for four-day camp sessions.
We will also be offering before and after care, 8:00-9:00 a.m. and 4:00-5:00 p.m for an additional $50 per session.

Session 1: June 5th-9th All About Asia - Kick off your summer with us by learning about the different cultures and biomes that span the vast continent of Asia.
Session 2: June 12th-16th All About Australia G’day mate! Join us as we explore down under this week. Learn how to jump like a kangaroo, chomp like a crocodile, and scurry like a Tasmanian devil!
Session 3: June 20th-23rd (4 Days) All About Africa The heat of the summer is starting to feel like Africa, so let’s pretend like we’re there!
Session 4: June 26th - June 29th (4 Days) All About North America It’s OUR continent! So many different cultures call North America home, let’s spend the week learning about them!
NO CAMP July 3rd- 7th (Closed for Summer Break)
Session 5: July 10th-14th All About South America Our continent neighbor to the south is ready to be explored Spend the week being a beetle in the Amazon rainforest, a marine iguana in the Galapagos Islands, or a puma in the mountains of Patagonia.
Session 6: July 17th-21st All About Europe Join us as we take a high-speed train all around Europe. We’ll be stopping by Paris for a croissant, Norway for some lefse, Turkey for some apricots, and mush more!
Session 7: July 24th-28th All About Antarctica Let’s take a break from the heat of the summer and jump into the icy continent of Antarctica. We’ll waddle with the penguins and bark like a walrus. Pack your snow gear, we are off to the South Pole!
Session 8: July 31st- Aug 4th All About our Oceans Let’s dive into the oceans this week while we explore the vast and deep waters that make up 70% of our earth. What hidden discoveries will we find?
Session 9: Aug 7th-11th All About Outer Space! It’s the last week of summer camp and we are going to BLAST our way out of the universe. Join us and we take a ship into space and see what lies beyond our atmosphere.

Session 1: June 5th-9th The Magic and Mystery of Trees! FULL
In order to keep trees and our planet thriving, we must get to know these wonders of nature better! Come enjoy a week of tree research and playful inquiry as we explore how and where trees live. In addition to our environmental investigations, we will get creative with drawing, painting, craft, and sewing projects. Walks to local parks and a field trip to an arboretum will also be part of the summer camp fun. Lead by Ms. Sophia.
Session 2: June 12th-16th Let’s Make a Music Video! Dust off your dancing shoes and bust out your glitter-gear because we're making a music video! Campers will plan, design, and film their own original music video. The week will culminate with a virtual video premiere! Lead by Ms. Claire.
Session 3: June 20th-23rd (4 Days) Summer Heat, Cool Treats! If you want to hang out and learn how to make fun frozen fruit-cicles and other cool treats in the kitchen, then join us at summer heat and cool treats camp! Lead by Mrs. Dominguez.
Session 4: June 26th - June 29th (4 Days) Viva Mexico! Come and learn all about beautiful Mexico! We will dive into its history and culture, make delicious foods and create colorful art projects that will deepen our understanding of our neighbor to the south. Lead by Ms. Heather.
NO CAMP July 3rd- 7th (Closed for Summer Break)
Session 5: July 10th-14th Chicago is Known for! Did you know that Native Americans were the first people to live, trade, and build communities in Chicago? What happens next is truly historic. Chicago grows from a marshy land into an amazing city. We're known for overcoming the Great Chicago Fire and Chicago-style hotdogs. Join us this summer to experience more of what Chicago is known for! Lead by Mrs. Dominguez
Session 6: July 17th-21st Calling all Builders! Do you like to design and build things for fun? Can you make a boat that can float or a chair that can rock? If you do come and help us make Pom-pom blasters and more, see you there. Lead by Mrs. Dominguez
Session 7: July 24th-28th All About Pets and Rescue! Children will learn about cats, dogs, rabbits, and fish. Their unique behaviors, how to properly care for them, and how to help rescue pets in need, including safety practices. Lead by Mrs. Kayla
Session 8: July 31st- Aug 4th Music Appreciation Children will be exposed to different musicians and genres of music. They will explore music from around the world and learn basic knowledge of instruments. Led by Mrs. Kayla
Session 9: Aug 7th-11th Summer Lovin’ Summer is coming to a close so let’s celebrate what is left of it with classic summer fun! Let’s spend time outside, playing in water, soaking in the heat and sun. Let’s play with friends until we are exhausted! That’s what summer is all about.
