Admissions At Alcuin Montessori

Alcuin's Mission:  We empower our children's inherent love of learning, inspiring and challenging each child to engage the world as an independent thinker, creative problem solver, and compassionate citizen.

Admission to Alcuin Montessori is open to children 6 weeks to 14 years. Priority consideration is given to siblings of current students, children of Alcuin alumni, and to children with prior Montessori experience once suitability to the program has been established.  Additional considerations for admissions include:
  • Meeting social, emotional, and academic expectations as determined by the interview or shadow day.
  • Parents who have a willingness to being informed, involved, and invested in the Montessori curriculum and Alcuin Montessori.

The Infant (6 weeks-14 months), Toddler (15 months-35 months), Primary (3-6 years), Junior Elementary (6-9 years), Senior Elementary (9-12 years) and Middle School (12-14 years) are all multi-age classrooms.  For ages three and up, admission is most appropriate in the first year of the three-year program, as older children act as role models and mentors to younger children and it may be difficult for an older child without a Montessori background. However, successful transitions are possible and we welcome applications from families new to Montessori, space permitting.  All children 3 years and older will have an interview or shadow day prior to admission.  Families must also have an interview, and tour, with a member of the admissions team.

For Redwood @ Alcuin admissions, please refer to that page.

As of November 5, 2025 - We currently have some immediate openings in our All-Year Primary program (ages 3-6). For our Infant and Toddler programs, we will have some infant spaces (for infants younger than 3 months) in the coming months.  We do not have any immediate infant openings.  For toddlers, we currently have a wait list of one to one-and-a-half years.  To be on the wait list for infant or toddler, an application must be submitted. Enrollment is ongoing for the infant and toddler programs; there is no application deadline. We are currently still accepting applications for the '25-'26 school year for Junior Elementary (1st through 3rd grades), and Middle School (7th and 8th grades).
