A Fresh New Look for Alcuin

When our founders first dreamt of Alcuin, they could not have imagined how many lives have been changed forever because of their wonderful Montessori school. Fifty-seven years later, their visionary dream lives on, and our journey has been filled with community, discovery, and endless growth.
With the expansion of our campus and programs, our branding has evolved to better reflect how our community has grown.

Our Mission

We empower our children's inherent love of learning, inspiring and challenging each child to engage the world as an independent thinker, creative problem solver, and compassionate citizen.

Our Core Beliefs

Montessori is a relationship-based community.  We believe Education for Life may be found in the following:
  • Curiosity
    We celebrate children’s awe of everything around them. Places, things, ideas — we help them explore it all.
  • Learning
    We follow children’s curiosities to lead to deeper knowledge and personal connection to what they learn. And then we help apply what they’ve learned continuously to other subjects, topics and life.
  • Challenge
    We broaden the learning environment so our children can continually push the fence over to explore new territory and test their growing potential.
  • Dialogue
    We inspire our children to question everything, express themselves and respect and consider diverse responses and ideas — so they can learn more holistically and inclusively.
  • Leadership
    We promote their confidence to show others the way when they know it and let others lead us when they don’t.
  • Love
    We show love and encourage children’s love of themselves, family, communities and our world by expressing respect, empathy, compassion and generosity.
At Alcuin:
  • each child feels secure and loved;
  • happiness and joy reign;
  • children receive a personalized education that is custom tailored to their specific needs; and
  • a true partnership exists between child, family, and teacher.

Our Logo

The Alcuin Montessori logo has been a part of our journey since 1967. Designed by Alcuin parent, Fred Roberton, the logo symbolized an education based on the essentials: primary shapes and the use of primary colors. Our logo served our needs for many years, but as the school was ready to grow, with the expansion of our campus and programs, it was time for our logo to evolve as well.

Taking the old logo as inspiration, we asked graphic designer Lisa Lim to create something which exemplified the following components:
  • the interconnectedness of child, family, and school;
  • a feeling of security and love; and
  • a strong foundation built on our rich history.

The result is a reinterpretation of our old logo, which uses a similar color palette, but moves away from primary colors appealing to our expanding community. The shades of yellow, orange and blue pay homage to its predecessor; the streamlined shapes offer a modern, fresh feel. Ms. Lim states the logo is, “Reflective of Alcuin’s loving and inviting community that nourishes the child.”

It is with much excitement that we present to you, the brand-new Alcuin Montessori logo which helps us continue our story for all families to come. We look forward to our bright future together, while honoring our past.
