Parent and Infant Program
"Education begins at birth."
The Parent/Infant program, for children birth-18 months, meets with a Montessori-certified teacher Friday mornings, 10:00-11:30 a.m.
This class, for the child accompanied by a parent or caregiver, is designed to build awareness of the Montessori approach to learning for the child and parent. You will have the rare opportunity to observe and interact with your child in a Montessori classroom prepared just for young children.
During the weekly class, the teacher introduces activities to children and guides their explorations, helping to prepare them for the Toddler program. These lessons help to develop social skills, concentration, communication and a sense of belonging to a group.
The teacher also provides parent education, including reading materials on child development and discussions on how to incorporate the Montessori philosophy into the home and help the child to develop independence and self-confidence.
